https://www.psychologyuk.com/ is a site operated by London Therapy Service Ltd (“We” and “Company”). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15946901 and have our registered office at 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. We are a limited company.
The Site is used to connect users with certified therapists (defined below). We offer three main packages to our services, an “Individual”, “Teen (13-17)” and “Couples” (collectively, the “Services”).
Psychology UK is not a crisis service. However, if you or someone else is in immediate danger or at risk of harm, there is help available. Please call 999 immediately or go to your nearest A&E (Accident & Emergency) department. Do not use our Services in an emergency.
By using our site and the Services, you confirm that you accept these terms of service and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our site or our Services.
These terms of service refer to the following additional terms, which also apply to your use of our site:
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, considering harm to yourself or others, believe someone is in immediate danger, or face a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately and do not use the Services.
The Therapists do not provide urgent healthcare.
We amend these terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use our site, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.
We may update and change our site from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, our users' needs and our business priorities. We reserve the right to do this at our sole discretion and without notice.
Our site is made available free of charge.
We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our site for business and operational reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.
You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms of service and other applicable terms of service, and that they comply with them.
We are proud to have a very selective process on choosing the therapists to conduct the Services, and only four per cent of applications are selected and chosen to become one of our practitioners (“Therapists”).
We require every Therapist which provides the Services to be a registered, trained and experienced practitioner. All Therapists must have a relevant academic degree in their field and have to be qualified and credentialed by their respective professional organisations after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training, and practice requirements as applicable. This will be with at least one accrediting body below:
i.
the regulations set by The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC); or
ii.
the regulations set by the General Medical Council (GMC); or
iii.
the regulations set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); or
iv.
the regulations set by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP); or
v.
the regulations set by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
The Therapists are independent service providers and consultants who are neither our employees nor agents nor representatives.
Each Therapist has obtained its own professional indemnity insurance for any liability that may arise from the Services. The Company acts solely as an intermediary, facilitating introductions between you and the Therapists. The Company does not conduct the Services itself. Accordingly, the Services provided to you by the Therapists shall be performed entirely at the Therapists’ own direction, control, and liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company disclaims all liability, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise, in connection with or resulting from any act, omission, advice, work, or service provided by a third-party professional. In the event of any claim, dispute, or legal action arising out of or relating to the Services rendered by the Therapists, you agree that your sole recourse shall be against the individual professional(s) responsible, and not against us, our affiliates, officers, employees, or agents.
Despite our efforts in our selection process for the Therapists, we understand that mistakes and errors be made. We appreciate any feedback of the Therapists and will consider terminating any relations with any Therapists that fall below our standards as a Company.
The Company currently offers three different packages.
The Individual Package
Price: £65.00
Duration: 50 minutes
Teen (13-17)
Price: £65.00
Duration: 50 minutes
Couples
Price: £80.00
Duration: 60 minutes
The Company’s role is limited to enabling the Services by introducing the users of the site to Therapists. The Company itself does not provide Services and is not a healthcare entity, or is it regulated by a medical body.
To access the Services, you must fill out a referral form that can be found on our website.
This information is then used to allocate a Therapist to you.
For Teen’s wishing to access the Teen Service, the Teen must obtain the prior written permission of their parent or guardian to access the Services and their parent or guardian must sign up the Teen themselves, which includes but is not limited to:
a.
completing the questionnaire on behalf of the Teen;
b.
connecting with the Therapist with the Teen;
the parent or guardian can then leave the conference with the Therapist to allow for the Session to take place.
The Therapists themselves are responsible for the performance of the Therapist Services. If you feel the Therapist Services provided by the Therapist do not fit your needs or expectations, you may change to a different Therapist who provides services through the site. If a Therapist you have been connected with stops using the site at any time after you have been connected, we will send an email to notify you that your Therapist is no longer on the site and that you have the opportunity to match with a new Therapist.
Although we aim for the Therapist Services to be helpful, you acknowledge, understand, and agree that they may not be suitable for every individual's needs, nor for all specific situations. They are not intended to replace certain mental health interventions that require in-person care.
To the fullest extent allowed under law of England and Wales, you agree to release us from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities that may arise in connection with your use of the Site or the services provided by therapists through it. This includes any actions, omissions, advice, suggestions, or other information provided by therapists or made available on the Site.
You understand, agree, and acknowledge that we shall not be liable to you, or to any third party, for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages.
The Site is provided on an "as is" basis without any warranties, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee its suitability for any particular purpose, its security, accuracy, or freedom from infringement. Your use of the Site is entirely at your own discretion and risk. We will not be held liable for any indirect, special, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from your use of the Site. Additionally, any liability on our part is limited to the total amount you have paid for the use of the Site in the 12 months leading up to the event giving rise to the claim.
We only provide our site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our site for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage that you could have avoided by following our advice to apply an update offered to you free of charge or for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation instructions or to have in place the minimum system requirements advised by us.
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
The Site and all rights and titles, and intellectual property rights are owned by the Company. This Agreement does not convey or grant you any rights in or related to the Site, or any intellectual property rights.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, the Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, revocable, non-transferable license to:
(i)
access and use the Site solely in connection with your use of the Services; and
(ii)
access and use any content, information and related materials that may be made available through the Services, in each case solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by the Company.
We sometimes share special discounts. These discounts may come as codes or links, and some people may be able to use them to pay less or get special deals.
We do not promise that any discount or code will always be available, valid, or provide the expected savings.
We reserve the right to change or remove any discount, code, or link at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. If a discount or code does not work, is discontinued, or does not meet your expectations, we will not be held responsible. By using these discounts or codes, you agree that you will not hold us liable if something goes wrong or the offer does not meet your expectations.
The Site may contain other content, products or services which are offered or provided by third parties ("Third Party Content"), links to Third Party Content (including but not limited to links to other websites) or advertisements which are related to Third Party Content. We have no responsibility for the creation, or the content or the material of any such Third Party Content.
You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal use and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on our site.
You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.
Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our site must always be acknowledged (except where the content is user-generated).
You must not use any part of the content on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.
If you print off, copy, download, share or repost any part of our site in breach of these terms of service, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made (except that you are permitted to print off a copy of these terms of service).
You hereby confirm that you consent to receive Therapist Services, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, and are legally able to enter into a contract.
Minor Consent: Where consent from a parent or guardian is required to receive Therapist Services (which is the case for accessing the Teen Services), you hereby confirm that as the consenting parent or guardian, you have the sole right to consent to Therapist Services for the minor seeking therapy and are not legally mandated to confer with or get consent from any other legal guardian before consenting. The entirety of the Terms and Conditions apply.
You hereby confirm and agree that all the information that you provided in or through the Site, and the information that you will provide in or through the Site in the future, is accurate, true, current and complete, and the updating of information lies in the responsibility of the user.
You will indemnify us, defend us, and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, causes of action, demands, liabilities, costs or expenses (including, but not limited to, litigation and reasonable attorneys' fees and expenses) arising out of or relating to your usage of our Services. This clause shall survive expiration or termination of this Agreement.
You confirm and agree to use only credit cards or other payment means (collectively “Payment Means”) which you are duly and fully authorised to use, and that all payment-related information that you provided and will provide in the future, to or through the Site, is accurate, current and correct and will continue to be accurate, current and correct.
You agree to pay all fees promptly as per the Site's published rates and terms. By providing your Payment Means, you authorise us to charge it and commit to keeping your payment information up to date.
Clients may purchase gift certificates online for personal use or as a gift for someone else. Upon purchase, the gift certificate will be sent via email with a unique code. Clients may forward the certificate to the intended recipient for use.
Gift certificates are available for different therapy sessions:
a.
For individual therapy, which lasts 50 minutes per session, the pricing is £65 for one session, £195 for three sessions, and £325 for five sessions.
b.
Couples therapy sessions, which last 60 minutes each, are priced at £80 for one session, £240 for three sessions, and £400 for five sessions.
c.
Teen therapy sessions, lasting 50 minutes per session, have the same pricing as individual therapy: £65 for one session, £195 for three sessions, and £325 for five sessions.
Gift certificates can only be redeemed for the specific type of therapy they were purchased for. For example, a certificate for couples therapy cannot be used for individual or teen therapy sessions. Existing clients may also use gift certificates to pay for their sessions.
Each gift certificate is valid for one year from the date of purchase. These certificates cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts. However, they are transferable to another person, provided they are used for the same type of therapy originally purchased. For instance, an individual therapy certificate can only be used for individual therapy sessions.
To redeem a gift certificate, the recipient must enter the unique code at the time of booking. If the session cost exceeds the value of the gift certificate, the remaining balance must be paid at the time of booking. If the session cost is less than the value of the gift certificate, the remaining balance will remain available for future use within the validity period.
Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Any unused balance after the expiration date will be forfeited.
